About the role

The Meliora School is looking for a reliable, flexible Substitute Learning Guide to join its substitute pool. In this role you will step in for the primary Learning Guide, ensuring continuity of instruction and a positive classroom environment for middle and high school learners.

Key responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and learning activities prepared by the primary Learning Guide.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom aligned with school culture.
• Support students in staying on task, engaged, and completing assignments.
• Uphold school-wide routines, transitions, and behavior expectations.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Communicate classroom updates or concerns to school leadership.
• Record accurate attendance and follow all school procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience working with youth.
• Prior experience with middle or high school learners strongly preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Flexibility, solution‑orientation, and responsiveness in dynamic settings.
• Alignment with Meliora’s learner‑centered mission and values.
