Technical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking three versatile Technical Engineers to provide end‑to‑end support for an Integrated Border and Visa Management System (IBVMS) and its underlying IT infrastructure. The role combines on‑site, field‑based, and headquarters support, requiring hands‑on troubleshooting, incident investigation, and coordination with senior engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver L1/L2 operational support for IBVMS applications and related services.
• Monitor application health, collect logs, and perform first‑line fault diagnosis.
• Troubleshoot user, transaction, integration, kiosk, biometric and workflow issues.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux environments, including health checks, service restarts and patch coordination.
• Conduct basic database diagnostics such as connectivity checks and approved SQL queries.
• Maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, routing, switching and Wi‑Fi connectivity.
• Monitor backup jobs, verify completions and assist with restore activities.
• Support server‑room operations, hardware installation, cabling, rack mounting and peripheral setup.
• Provide field support for eGate systems, kiosks, biometric devices, printers, scanners and workstations.
• Install, configure, replace, test and maintain IT hardware and peripherals.
• Execute software deployments, configuration updates, post‑deployment validation and rollback activities.
• Document technical procedures, asset inventories and configuration records.

Required profile

• Hands‑on technical professional with experience in L1/L2 support and incident diagnosis.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with L3 engineers, vendors and customer teams.
• Immediate availability or ability to start within 30 days.
