Trauma and Orthopedic Surgeon (Emergency Response Team)

About the role

The Emergency Response Team (ERT) at International Medical Corps seeks an experienced Trauma and Orthopedic Surgeon to deliver acute and long‑term care for patients with severe injuries. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, providing both surgical and non‑surgical interventions in emergency units, operating theatres and rehabilitation wards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic imaging (Ultrasound, X‑ray, CT, MRI).
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, selecting surgical or non‑surgical options based on injury severity.
• Perform emergency procedures such as reductions, re‑alignments, hemostasis and definitive orthopedic surgeries.
• Provide immediate resuscitation, stabilization and postoperative care, often under time‑critical conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in intensive care, inpatient wards and rehabilitation units.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification or equivalent in Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery.
• Minimum 3 years (36 months) of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to work day or night shifts and adapt to unpredictable schedules.
• Willingness to perform duties within the scope of practice and accommodate reasonable adjustments.
