About the role
The Librarian will manage the University Library and its information systems, reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor at St. Ignatius University Kabale. The role ensures that students and staff have access to up‑to‑date resources and supports the university’s academic mission.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and implement library projects and programs.
- Liaise with Faculty Heads to develop library collections and provide relevant information material.
- Chair Library Committee meetings.
- Monitor developments in information science to keep resources current.
- Co‑operate with other university libraries in Uganda for resource sharing.
- Create and maintain library databases for easy access to information resources.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Deputy Vice Chancellor.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Systems or Records and Information Science from a recognized university.
- At least three years of satisfactory service as an Assistant Librarian in a reputable institution.
