Afterschool Teacher – Early Childhood Educator

About the role

Cadence Education is seeking a passionate Afterschool Teacher to join its early childhood team. You will work under the guidance of the School Director and Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for preschool‑aged children.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily classroom operations and implement Cadence’s research‑based curriculum.
• Welcome children and families, building professional and welcoming relationships.
• Assist in recognizing and responding to individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, including following IEPs and behavior support plans.
• Help the Lead Teacher plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and Cadence Signature Programs.
• Communicate with families, coworkers, and leadership using Cadence‑approved tools and systems.
• Follow safety and supervision policies, documenting and reporting accidents or incidents.
• Manage, document, and escalate child behaviors in line with Cadence policies.

Required profile

• Experience in childcare, daycare, or early childhood education.
• Ability to create an inclusive classroom where every child is treated with dignity and respect.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with families and team members.
• Commitment to safety, licensing compliance, and adherence to Cadence policies.

Required skills

• Familiarity with UKG Wallet payroll system (preferred).
