Anesthesiologist – Emergency Response Team

About the role

The Anesthesiologist ERT provides specialized anesthesia and pain management in emergency settings, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize patients and ensure safe outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Emergency anesthesia administration – assess, prioritize and deliver appropriate anesthesia in urgent cases.
• Trauma stabilization – participate in resuscitation and rapid stabilization of critically injured patients.
• Critical care collaboration – work with intensivists, surgeons and emergency physicians to manage critically ill patients.
• Pain management – provide acute pain relief, including regional anesthesia when indicated.
• Communication and team coordination – liaise with nursing staff, respiratory therapists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
• Emergency protocols and preparedness – stay current with emergency response guidelines and apply them in practice.
• Documentation and record keeping – accurately record procedures, medications and patient responses.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency.
• Board certification in anesthesiology and a current medical license.
• Familiarity with emergency response protocols.
• Experience in emergency medicine or critical care (highly desirable).
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to make rapid, sound decisions under pressure.
