Assistant Lecturer – Anatomy

About the role

The Assistant Lecturer – Anatomy will join the Department of Anatomy at Aga Khan University, Uganda, delivering high‑quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate health‑science students. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on lecture delivery, practical sessions, and student mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and practical anatomy sessions.
• Develop teaching materials and support curriculum implementation.
• Supervise laboratory and dissection room activities, ensuring safety and ethical standards.
• Assist with assessments, examinations and provide constructive student feedback.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality‑assurance initiatives and scholarly activities.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in human anatomy and related biomedical sciences.
• Master’s degree in Anatomy or a closely related discipline; medical degree or doctoral progress is an advantage.
• Experience in medical or health‑sciences education, including lecture and practical session preparation.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and mentoring abilities.
• Organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple teaching and administrative duties.
