Audit & Assurance Manager

About the role

The Manager will support the Associate Director in delivering audit and assurance services to clients, leading engagements and driving strategic risk and data analytics initiatives. Based in Kampala, the role involves client interaction, team leadership, and contribution to business development.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Associate Director on delivery of designated engagements, managing implementation of agreed deliverables.
• Manage engagement budgets, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability.
• Advise clients on risk management systems, internal controls, regulatory compliance and technology‑enabled processes.
• Design data‑driven business processes and provide analytics solutions tailored to client needs.
• Interpret business analyses to identify issues and deliver data‑based recommendations.
• Lead client planning meetings, allocate tasks, review work papers and ensure timely delivery of reports, billing and collections.

Required profile

• At least a second‑class honours bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in external/internal audit, internal controls review or risk management.
• Willingness to travel within Uganda and the East Africa region.
• Ugandan citizenship.
• Excellent written and oral communication, strong teamwork and client‑delivery focus.
• Sound problem‑solving ability and adaptability to change.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Data analytics competency.
