About the role
The Uganda Heart Institute is hiring a Biomedical Technician in Kampala (Kamwokya). The post reports to the Senior Biomedical Technician and covers the maintenance, repair and calibration of medical and biomedical equipment across the facility.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date inventory registers and asset tags for all medical and biomedical equipment.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on clinical equipment across the facility.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning biomedical machines.
- Plan, specify spare parts and estimate cost budgets for equipment servicing and repairs.
- Carry out equipment testing, acceptance inspections and safety calibrations on medical devices.
- Conduct routine servicing and cleaning of specialized medical machinery.
Required profile
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or Medical Equipment Technology from a recognized institution.
