Boiler & Operations Engineer – Distillery

About the role

We are seeking a Boiler & Operations Engineer to join a leading distillery in Uganda. The role involves ensuring reliable steam supply and supporting daily production and utility operations within a process‑manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain industrial boilers safely and efficiently.
• Guarantee uninterrupted steam supply for production processes.
• Perform routine inspections and monitor boiler performance.
• Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory regulations.
• Maintain operational records, logs and reports.
• Support day‑to‑day distillery production and utility operations.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimise plant performance.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in boiler operations within distillery, alcohol, ethanol, brewery, sugar or other process‑manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of steam generation systems, utilities and boiler maintenance.
• Understanding of safety standards and boiler operating procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication abilities.
• Willingness to relocate to Uganda.
