Business Practicum Teacher (Grades 9‑12)

About the role

The Business Practicum Teacher will provide high‑school students (grades 9‑12) with learning activities and experiences that develop their intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth, while preparing them for successful participation in society and industry certification.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned business practicum classes at designated locations and times.
• Develop, adapt and implement curriculum plans, preparing lessons that address individual student differences.
• Present subject matter in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines and district policies.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and maintain assessment documentation.
• Collaborate with staff on instructional goals, serve on committees, and support extracurricular activities.
• Maintain a safe classroom environment, manage discipline, and protect equipment and facilities.
• Facilitate opportunities for students to obtain industry certification hours and engage with community business practicum services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate, eligibility for alternative certification, or Arlington ISD local teaching permit.
• Documented work experience in business practicum per Arlington ISD guidelines (preferred).
• Ability to move between district locations and maintain emotional control under stress.
