Carbon Project Developer - Uganda

About the role

Q-Sourcing Servtec, a manpower management firm operating in East Africa, is recruiting a Carbon Project Developer in Uganda on behalf of its client in the renewable energy sector. This is a country-level coordination role working closely with SunCulture's carbon leadership team in Kenya to support carbon project activities, stakeholder engagement and verification.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate carbon project development activities in Uganda and lead logistics for field activities such as data collection, monitoring and grievance redress.
• Support the transition of AMS I.B projects from Gold Standard to PACM methodologies and advise on environmental regulations and compliance.
• Coordinate in-country workshops, stakeholder consultations and carbon-related events.
• Work with SunCulture Kenya on project validation, verification and monitoring.
• Help develop project plans, timelines, budgets and resource requirements.
• Support carbon accounting and emerging carbon methodologies, and facilitate Local Stakeholder Consultations and community engagement.
• Manage the country-level carbon grievance redress mechanism and coordinate daily carbon operations with the Carbon Operations Lead.
• Develop monitoring systems, prepare regular progress reports and take part in carbon committee meetings and cross-functional sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in carbon projects, climate finance, sustainability or environmental programs.
• Strong understanding of the voluntary carbon market project development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with carbon accounting, validation and verification processes and environmental regulations.
• Excellent organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills; able to work in multidisciplinary teams and fast-paced environments.
