Chinese Translator (English & Local Languages)

About the role

This position supports the company’s senior management by bridging language gaps between Chinese, English and local Ugandan languages. The translator will work closely with the boss, partners, clients, suppliers and staff to ensure smooth communication in daily operations and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide real‑time oral interpretation and written translation for meetings, negotiations and field visits.
• Translate business documents, contracts, market information and other files accurately between Chinese, English and local Ugandan languages.
• Assist the boss in daily communications, business negotiations and correspondence to eliminate language barriers.
• Maintain confidentiality and deliver high‑quality translations under tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Ugandan resident with full proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing Chinese.
• Fluent in English and common local Ugandan languages.
• Responsible, quick‑witted and able to adapt to a flexible schedule.
• Prior experience in business translation preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced Chinese language proficiency.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Familiarity with local Ugandan languages for bilingual communication.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from UGX 500,000 to UGX 1,000,000 per month.
