Clinical Support Worker – District Nursing

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Clinical Support Worker to join our District Nursing team in the Falkirk area. Working under the supervision of a District Nurse or Registered Nurse, you will deliver routine and specialised care to patients in their homes, including palliative and end‑of‑life support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in community settings, following care plans.
• Perform clinical procedures such as venepuncture, medication administration and catheter care.
• Support palliative and end‑of‑life patients in their own homes.
• Assist the multidisciplinary team, including staff nurses and student nurses, with day‑to‑day tasks.
• Travel independently across the service area, ensuring timely visits.
• Document care accurately and refer complex cases to the supervising Registered Professional.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and make appropriate clinical referrals.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the district.
• Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate care to vulnerable patients.
