Communication Officer

About the role

The Communication Officer will support the Vocational Education and Skilling Programme (VESP) in Karamoja, Uganda. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the role focuses on creating high‑quality visual and written content to promote the programme’s impact and engage stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop information and communication strategies for programme projects.
• Create guidelines for internal communication tools and products.
• Design high‑quality graphics for reports and publications.
• Document project stories, archive photographs, and maintain social‑media updates.
• Serve as event rapporteur and take meeting minutes.
• Produce professional photography, videography, and 3D animation.

Required profile

• Preferably a degree in Mass Communications, Development Communication, Journalism or a related field.
• Experience working for international organisations or consultancy assignments in strategic communications.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team, multitask, and travel frequently within the implementation area.
• Flexibility to work irregular and long hours in rural or urban settings.
