Communications and External Relations Volunteer

About the role

Jumuiya Development Foundation is seeking a passionate Communications and External Relations Volunteer to support its community‑centered initiatives in Kamwokya, Uganda. The volunteer will help amplify the foundation’s voice, engage stakeholders, and promote inclusive development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting and editing press releases, newsletters, and social media content.
• Support the planning and execution of community outreach events and advocacy campaigns.
• Maintain relationships with partners, donors, and media contacts.
• Collect and organize stories, testimonials, and visual materials for communication purposes.
• Monitor media coverage and provide regular reports to the communications team.

Required profile

• Strong interest in community development and non‑profit work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
• Basic understanding of social media platforms and content creation.
