Communications Coordinator – Uganda

About the role

The Communications Coordinator will lead the execution of Trees for the Future’s Uganda program communications strategy. Working closely with program teams, the Nairobi marketing office and the central office, the role will raise the visibility of the organization’s agro‑forestry work across the Lake Victoria watershed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the Uganda communications plan in line with donor requirements and brand guidelines.
• Produce high‑quality written content, documentation, photography and videography for success stories, lessons learned and impact narratives.
• Manage media relations, coordinate press releases, campaigns and public events to enhance stakeholder engagement.
• Archive and package program materials for internal and external dissemination.
• Serve as the primary liaison between TREES Uganda, partners, donors and the public, ensuring consistent brand representation.
• Report to the Country Director and collaborate with the Regional Marketing and Communications Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of communications experience in the NGO or development sector.
• Proven ability to create compelling storytelling content for diverse audiences.
• Strong understanding of donor reporting and brand standards.
• Based in Uganda with ability to work onsite.
