Communications Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Communications Officer to join its country team. You will work closely with program workstreams to design and deliver multimedia communications that support both new and emergency projects, enhancing the organization’s visibility and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and distribute content for the website, press releases, marketing materials, and other public‑facing channels.
• Conduct client interviews, collect success stories, and provide multimedia coverage at project events.
• Develop and disseminate regular project update briefs, sit‑reps, and the quarterly country newsletter.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal staff to produce and distribute communications and visibility materials.
• Maintain relationships with journalists, conduct media interviews, and manage a media‑outlet database.
• Support internal and external communications, including social‑media content creation.

Required profile

• Degree in Communications, Marketing & Public Relations, Mass Communications, International Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, media, journalism, or advocacy.
• Strong written and verbal English skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced humanitarian environment.
