Computer Instructor & IT Support Specialist

About the role

The Jesuit Refugee Service is seeking a Computer Instructor and IT Support Specialist to deliver high‑quality computer literacy and networking training while providing day‑to‑day IT support for its Adjumani project office. The role combines classroom instruction with hands‑on technical assistance in a humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update training materials and curricula for basic computer literacy and advanced networking courses, following the Competency‑Based Training (CBET) framework.
• Create course outlines, lesson plans, work plans and instructional resources.
• Support enrolment of beneficiaries and deliver daily classroom instruction for both basic and advanced courses.
• Administer, plan, coordinate and manage the IT project for the Adjumani office, ensuring compliance with JRS policies, Sphere standards, Do No Harm, PSEAH and safeguarding guidelines.
• Provide day‑to‑day IT support, including user assistance, maintenance of IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 services, network administration, information security, system continuity and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the Kampala Project IT Officer to align technical support with organisational standards.

Required profile

• Ability to mentor and train learners in computer skills.
• Experience delivering computer literacy or networking training.
• Experience providing IT support in an office setting.
• Familiarity with humanitarian policies such as Sphere, Do No Harm, PSEAH and safeguarding.
• Capacity to work under the supervision of the Economic Inclusion and Livelihood Coordinator.
