Construction Supervisor – Estimating

About the role

The BOSC Construction Supervisor will lead cost estimating for construction and engineering projects, translating RFP data into accurate labor, equipment, subcontractor and material forecasts. The role supports both domestic and international government proposals, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze specifications, sketches, blueprints and bills of material to calculate production costs using pricing schedules and historical data.
• Collect cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors and vendors, and compute estimates for raw materials, subcontracted work and labor.
• Create and maintain historical cost databases and cost models for estimating elements.
• Revise estimates when project scope changes and assist subject‑matter experts in Bill of Estimate development.
• Coordinate with department leads to ensure on‑time, compliant estimate delivery.
• Mentor and train less‑experienced estimators, providing on‑the‑job guidance.
• Liaise between the estimating department and other functional areas to guarantee data compliance.
• Provide QA/QC support to the estimating process and review manufacturing parts lists for accuracy.
• Prepare final estimates for government proposals and interface with auditors for pre‑award and post‑award price audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum four years of construction or government estimation experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, costs and procedures across heavy construction, electrical, plumbing and masonry work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with all management levels.
• Ability to coordinate multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines.
