Consultancy for CHWR‑eCHIS Interoperability in Uganda

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to strengthen Uganda’s community health system by designing and implementing seamless interoperability between the Community Health Worker Registry (CHWR) and the Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS). The work will improve data accuracy, accessibility, and support evidence‑based decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement APIs and data pipelines to enable real‑time data exchange between CHWR and eCHIS.
• Integrate CHW records into the national data warehouse and ensure synchronization with DHIS2.
• Develop analytics dashboards and geo‑referenced insights for service coverage and equity monitoring.
• Support system testing, deployment, and capacity‑building activities for national stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure sustainable digital health solutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or Software Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in digital health systems and health‑system interoperability.
• Proven experience developing APIs and integrating health information systems.
• Experience with DHIS2 and data‑warehouse integration.
• Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, OpenHIE, and open‑source platforms such as CHT and OpenSRP.
• Fluent English.
