Crossing Guard – Permanent & Substitute Positions

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to serve as Crossing Guards or Crossing Guard Substitutes for schools within the McKinney Independent School District. The role involves safely escorting students to and from school at designated intersections, working two short shifts each day.

Key responsibilities

• Guide students across streets and intersections during morning and afternoon periods.
• Ensure traffic safety by using provided safety equipment and following district protocols.
• Report any incidents or hazards to school authorities promptly.
• Maintain a courteous and attentive presence for students, parents, and staff.

Required profile

• Friendly, upbeat personality with a genuine interest in working with children.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Availability for two one‑hour shifts five days a week, excluding school holidays and professional‑development days.
• Minimum age and legal eligibility to work in the district.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of traffic safety and pedestrian control.
