Enterprise Banker

About the role

The Enterprise Banker will drive business performance by acquiring new customers and expanding relationships with existing ones. You will act as the primary point of contact for Business Banking clients, delivering sales, service and credit solutions while collaborating closely with branch staff and specialist teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sales and service to Business Banking customers, targeting both new acquisition and wallet‑share growth.
• Open Enterprise banking accounts and ensure all documentation complies with bank policies.
• Promote and explain bank products, meeting and exceeding sales campaign targets.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities, generate leads through face‑to‑face and telephone contact, and follow up on internal referrals.
• Initiate client credit applications in line with Absa Africa SME lending guidelines and support the commercial credit team.
• Conduct financial analysis and statement reviews for loan proposals, communicating decisions and alternatives to clients.
• Maintain sales performance statistics and report daily credit denials to the Branch Manager.
• Build strong relationships with branch staff to ensure appropriate referrals to the Enterprise Banker.
• Deliver post‑opening customer service, including welcome packs and handling queries or complaints.

Required profile

• Experience in business or enterprise banking with a focus on sales and customer service.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive portfolio profitability.
• Strong understanding of SME lending guidelines and credit assessment processes.
• Excellent communication skills for client meetings, product presentations and internal collaboration.
• Detail‑oriented approach to documentation, financial analysis and compliance.
