Excel Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations across Africa. You will design advanced spreadsheet tools, automated dashboards and interactive templates that turn raw numbers into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Develop and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Create dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and train remote teams on custom analytical tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience focused on data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines across African time zones.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA programming and macro development.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and data‑visualisation principles.
• Strong problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail.
