Farm Manager

About the role

The Farm Manager will lead the planning, management and daily operations of Farm Resort Kakiri’s agricultural activities. This includes supervising staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that quality, safety and production targets are met across coffee, matooke, bananas and other seasonal crops.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage farm support staff.
• Plan and supervise cultivation, maintenance, harvesting and post‑harvest handling of coffee, matooke, bananas and other crops.
• Monitor plant health, implement fertilisation, pruning, pesticide and herbicide applications.
• Oversee animal feeding, breeding and health, coordinating with veterinary specialists as needed.
• Prepare regular performance and production reports for management.
• Collaborate with other department leads to ensure smooth farm operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Management, Agroforestry or Horticulture.
• 3–5 years of practical experience managing a farm, including crops and livestock.

• Coffee and banana cultivation expertise.
• Soil fertility and crop‑nutrition management.
• Animal nutrition and health monitoring.
• Pest and disease control, including pesticide application.
