Finance Intern – Operations & Reconciliation

About the role

Join Chloride Exide’s finance team in Uganda as a Finance Intern and gain hands‑on experience with daily financial operations across multiple brands and locations. You will support reconciliations, invoice processing and month‑end activities while developing a solid foundation in corporate finance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily sales reconciliations across platforms, brands and branches, including M‑Pay, card, cash and bank statements.
• Process supplier invoices, support accounts payable and investigate variances, missing payments, refunds and discrepancies.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, stock takes and food‑cost reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare ad‑hoc reports for the wider finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree completed in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• CPA Part I+ or pursuing CPA(K)/ACCA is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organised and proactive in following up mismatches.
• Comfortable working with numbers and able to operate in a fast‑moving, multi‑brand environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with accounting systems and familiarity with M‑Pay reconciliations is a plus.
