Finance Officer – Sub‑Grants (Uganda)

About the role
The Finance Officer (Sub‑Grants) supports IDLO’s programmes in Uganda by managing the financial aspects of sub‑grant agreements. Based in Kampala, the role works closely with the Programme team and reports to the Finance and Administration Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the full package of documents for each call for applications and develop a matrix of received applications.
- Conduct initial financial screening of applications and report on findings.
- Update financial content in sub‑grant application documents and review criteria on a periodic basis.
- Coordinate with the Programme team to carry out finance‑related tasks throughout the sub‑grant lifecycle.
- Monitor sub‑grant budgets, process payments, and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance with donor regulations and support internal and external audits.
- Travel within Uganda as needed to oversee sub‑grant implementation.
Required profile
- Experience in financial management of development projects or sub‑grant programmes.
- Ability to work under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager and collaborate with programme staff.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Uganda.
