Fire Protection Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Fire Protection Technician to join Amentum’s US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures fire prevention, safety and protection across the facility, supporting personnel and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify locations of all fire alarms and activate them during emergencies.
• Handle, store and dispose of combustible supplies, materials and waste safely.
• Inspect storage areas and workspaces to detect and mitigate fire hazards.
• Follow safety guidelines and fire‑prevention regulations.
• Participate in fire‑safety training and maintain current knowledge of standards.
• Collaborate with the Fire and Emergency Services Department to address hazards.
• Report safety violations, fire risks or faulty equipment promptly.
• Assist with workplace safety initiatives to raise fire‑safety awareness.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fundamental knowledge of fire safety and prevention practices.
• Ability to identify fire risks and enforce best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Capability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain deployment compliance.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
