Full-stack Developer

About the role

GIX Agency is seeking a passionate Full‑stack Developer to join its engineering team in Kampala. You will design, develop, test and maintain scalable web applications and enterprise solutions for both clients and internal products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain modern web applications.
• Build RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js frameworks.
• Create responsive front‑end interfaces with React.js or Next.js.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and payment gateways.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability and security.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑documented code.
• Debug and resolve software defects efficiently.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers and fellow developers.
• Participate in code reviews and technical planning sessions.
• Contribute to architecture and continuous improvement of products.

Required profile

• Self‑driven and accountable with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a team‑player attitude.
• Fast learner with a growth mindset, able to meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
• Proven software development experience through employment or personal projects.
• Strong portfolio or active GitHub profile.
