GBV Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Gender‑Based Violence (GBV) Officer to lead and coordinate GBV prevention and response activities in the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement. Reporting to the Senior Protection Officer, you will ensure quality implementation of GBV programs and strengthen both internal and community‑based response mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor GBV prevention and response activities in line with IRC strategies and SOPs.
• Lead the zonal‑level GBV program, focusing on case management and survivor support.
• Conduct protection assessments, risk analyses and contribute to advocacy based on findings.
• Build capacity of partners, staff and community‑based GBV structures through training and mentorship.
• Maintain and regularly update referral pathways and map existing GBV services.
• Ensure compliance with IRC standards, budgets and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of the Senior Protection Officer.
• Experience planning and implementing GBV programs in humanitarian settings.
• Familiarity with protection assessments and risk analysis.
• Strong coordination skills with partners, staff and community structures.
