Gender Coordinator

About the role

The Gender Coordinator will lead gender‑focused analysis, strategy implementation and capacity‑building activities across project districts in Uganda. This position ensures that all program components are gender‑sensitive and that women, men, boys and girls can participate freely and benefit equally.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gender analyses to identify needs, barriers and opportunities for project planning.
• Oversee regional gender strategies and action plans, integrating gender equity into all activities.
• Support the implementation of URRI using gender‑appropriate approaches and ensure equitable participation of all gender groups.
• Coordinate with technical teams, consortium partners and strategic stakeholders to embed gender considerations throughout the project.
• Identify capacity gaps on gender equality and GBV, and deliver training, mentorship and workshops for staff and partners.
• Represent Save the Children in external meetings, workshops and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with Save the Children policies on child safeguarding, safety, security, code of conduct and equal opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project coordination, budget management and donor compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct gender analyses and develop gender‑responsive strategies.
• Experience in capacity building, training facilitation and mentorship on gender equality and GBV.
• Strong collaboration skills with technical teams, partners and consortium members.
• Commitment to safeguarding, safety, security and equal opportunity policies.
