GitHub Contributor (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled GitHub Contributor to join Yo It Consulting on a remote contract basis. The role involves providing high-quality code samples, debugging strategies, and development insights across multiple programming languages to support AI training data and improve open-source projects.

Key responsibilities

• Write and contribute expert-level code snippets, debugging techniques, and development insights in Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and performance bottlenecks in diverse codebases.
• Implement new features with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and best-practice software engineering.
• Refactor and optimise legacy code to enhance clarity, efficiency and long-term reliability.
• Document technical reasoning, solution approaches and code decisions to enrich AI training data quality.
• Review and validate peer-contributed code and technical submissions for accuracy and clarity.

Required profile

• Significant hands-on expertise in at least one of the listed programming languages.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and software engineering principles.
• Proven ability to debug complex systems, resolve bugs and deliver effective optimisations.
• Experience with large codebase refactoring and legacy system modernisation.
• Clear documentation and communication skills to articulate technical concepts.
• Interest or curiosity about AI challenges (no prior AI experience required).
