Gourmet Coffee Barista

About the role

The Gourmet Coffee Barista will be responsible for delivering high‑quality coffee beverages and exceptional service to guests at a Marriott property in Kampala. This full‑time, on‑site position involves opening and closing duties, cash handling, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform opening and closing tasks, including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment, and securing the premises.
• Take guest orders, enter them into the MICROS cash‑register system, and prepare coffee and food items.
• Manage cash transactions, count the bank at shift end, and complete cashier reports.
• Maintain work areas, coffee carts, tables, and equipment throughout the shift.
• Ensure appliances such as coffee makers are operated at appropriate times.
• Follow all company safety, security, and uniform policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lb and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MICROS point‑of‑sale system.
• Experience operating a cash‑register system and handling cash transactions.
