Guest Event Expert

About the role

The Guest Event Expert supports banquet and event operations at Marriott’s Kampala location, ensuring guests receive seamless food and beverage service. This full‑time, on‑site position involves preparing stations, handling special dietary requests, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with food and beverages according to the Banquet Event Order.
• Set up tables, buffets, dessert and cordial carts, and keep them stocked and presentable.
• Communicate allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Clear courses, crumb tables, and replenish buffet items to maintain freshness.
• Monitor tableware condition and ensure cleanliness of service areas.
• Bus tables, separating and handling plateware, glassware, and flatware.
• Follow all company safety, security, and uniform policies.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than one year of related food‑and‑beverage or event service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unaided and up to 75 lb with assistance.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and move on uneven surfaces for an entire shift.
