Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics

About the role

The Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics will own SafeBoda’s end‑to‑end data function across Uganda and Kenya, driving real‑time visibility, data quality and analytical capability. This strategic leadership position spans data governance, infrastructure, analytics strategy and the development of a data‑driven culture.

Key responsibilities

• Data Governance: Establish and enforce enterprise governance frameworks, including data classification, access controls, pipeline versioning, documentation standards and quality monitoring.
• Analytics Strategy: Own the multi‑year BI and analytics roadmap aligned to ride‑hailing and fintech objectives, managing delivery against OKRs and SLAs.
• Executive Insight: Develop KPI frameworks and real‑time analyses, translating complex findings into clear, decision‑ready narratives for C‑level audiences.
• Cross‑Functional Partnership: Embed data into decision‑making workflows across Marketing, Operations, Finance and Product.
• Data Infrastructure: Architect and maintain the data platform, including ETL pipelines, data warehouse and server environment.
• Team & Capability Development: Lead, mentor and grow a team of data professionals and deliver internal data‑literacy programmes.

Required profile

• Graduate degree, MBA or equivalent in a quantitative field (engineering, mathematics, statistics) with 6+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a data leadership role within a high‑growth tech or fintech environment.
• Proven ability to lead and develop data teams, deliver executive‑level insights and navigate ambiguity.
• Strong business strategy and consulting experience, with a passion for quantitative analysis.
