Head of Procurement

About the role

PAPER TOILS (U) LIMITED, a paper and tissue products manufacturer based in Uganda, is seeking a Head of Procurement to lead its sourcing activities. The role ensures timely, cost‑effective acquisition of raw materials, equipment and services while upholding quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Plan and coordinate purchasing of raw materials, equipment, supplies and services.
• Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
• Negotiate prices, contracts, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Ensure procurement processes are efficient, transparent and compliant with internal policies.
• Monitor supplier performance, product quality, costs and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with finance, production, logistics and other departments to understand procurement needs.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts and supplier information.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities without compromising quality.
• Track market trends, supplier pricing and availability.
• Guarantee sufficient material availability to support operations.
• Prepare regular procurement reports for management.
• Ensure adherence to applicable procurement regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain management.
