Human Resources Officer (Uganda)

About the role

Alight is seeking a Human Resources Officer to manage day‑to‑day HR operations for its Uganda Enterprise. Based in Kamwokya, Kampala, the role supports staff across three operational regions and helps embed Alight’s values in everyday work.

Key responsibilities

• Administer HR correspondence such as recommendation letters, bank letters and certificates of service.
• Assist staff with leave planning and ensure compliance with leave policies.
• Coordinate with IT to create and deactivate email and system accounts for new and departing employees.
• Maintain up‑to‑date staff records and documentation.
• Process staff clearance, terminal benefits and ensure payments follow policy.
• Prepare, issue and track offer letters and employment contracts.
• Explain and oversee the employee benefits package.
• Update and share monthly staff lists with the Office of the People.
• Support recruitment and selection activities as needed.

Required profile

• At least one month of relevant HR experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with IT, finance and operational teams.
• Commitment to Alight’s humanitarian mission and values.
