ICT & Digitalization Intern

About the role

The ICT & Digitalization Intern will join the UNDP Uganda Country Office ICT team to support daily IT operations and contribute to digital transformation projects. Reporting to the ICT Associate and working closely with programme and operations staff, the intern will gain hands‑on experience in help‑desk support, network administration, and technology‑driven process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line help‑desk support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and account access issues for end users.
• Install and configure computers, printers, mobile devices, and licensed software.
• Support onsite and virtual events by setting up cameras, audio systems, displays, and platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Maintain ICT asset records, ensuring proper tagging and tracking.
• Assist with network administration, including Wi‑Fi, LAN, and VPN troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
• Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair of ICT equipment (computers, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, UPS).
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives such as process automation, document digitisation, migration to modern platforms, and responsible AI exploration.
