ICT Teacher, Secondary

About the role

Acorns International School (AIS) in Kampala is looking for a secondary ICT teacher. The teacher provides education and guidance to students, designs and delivers lessons, prepares instructional materials, assesses student performance and gives feedback to students and parents.

Key responsibilities

• Teach all areas of the curriculum and prepare the classroom for lessons
• Keep the classroom tidy and in good order, and submit paperwork
• Work one-to-one or with small groups of pupils
• Create displays of pupils' work and help on school outings and events
• Report and liaise with parents and guardians in collaboration with the Head of Department
• Carry out student assessment and report writing on time
• Help prepare departmental events and keep school resources safe and well maintained
• Develop and promote ATL skills and encourage Cambridge learner profiles among students

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching ICT/Computer Science in a Cambridge curriculum setting
• Teaching qualification or certificate is an added advantage

• Strong knowledge of digital technologies and coding
• Learner-centred teaching approaches
