Import/Export Operations Specialist

About the role

Join DHL Global Forwarding, the air, ocean and road freight specialist of the DHL Group, as an Import/Export Operations Specialist in Entebbe, Uganda. You will own the end‑to‑end administration of import and export shipments, ensuring smooth customs clearance and high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers, handling complaints and enquiries.
• Coordinate shipment movement from pickup to delivery, including booking carriers and updating the CW1 system.
• Prepare and quality‑check export documents, customs entries, MBL/HBL, and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Support the Head of Products in system upgrades and assist the Global Service Center with file management.
• Send pre‑alerts, bill shipments, close files in CWI, and follow up for customer feedback.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in import/export logistics.
• Degree level education; EAFFPC Certificate is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and the AFR product for export/import.
• High result orientation, good negotiation and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Experience with CargoWise (preferred).
• Familiarity with CW1 e‑Doc system and CWI shipment management.
