Innovation and Learning Senior Specialist

About the role

The Innovation and Learning Senior Specialist will shape and deliver Save the Children’s U‑RIL strategy in Uganda. Working closely with operations, partners and the RIL Central Support Unit, you will lead the design, scaling and advocacy of innovative solutions that improve outcomes for children.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure U‑RIL programmes align with the global RIL strategy and Save the Children’s overall objectives.
• Collaborate with the Operations and PDQ teams to design cohesive projects and programmes.
• Develop and implement an Innovation Scaling Strategy, identifying opportunities for internal and external uptake.
• Maintain and expand strategic relationships with RIL founding members and high‑level stakeholders.
• Facilitate regular high‑level meetings, promote synergies, and represent U‑RIL on priority issues defined by the Uganda Country Strategic Plan.
• Support national advocacy, influence policy, and drive new business development through strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• Ugandan national (position open to nationals only).
• Extensive experience in innovation, learning, and programme strategy within the development sector.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑stakeholder collaborations and influence policy at national and regional levels.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and relationship‑building skills.
