IT Assistant – Hotel Technology Support

About the role

The IT Assistant will support daily operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the hotel’s technology ecosystem, ensuring reliable service for staff and guests. Working under the IT Manager, the role focuses on delivering secure and efficient IT solutions across all hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to all hotel departments, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and peripheral issues.
• Assist with installation, configuration and maintenance of Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point‑of‑Sale (POS) applications.
• Monitor LAN, Wi‑Fi and internet performance; maintain network cabling, switches, routers and access points.
• Set up, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers and other IT equipment while keeping an accurate inventory.
• Perform regular data backups, antivirus updates and firewall configuration, reporting any security incidents.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of IT support experience; hospitality experience preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi) and basic server administration.
• Experience with hotel PMS (e.g., Opera, Protel) and POS systems.
• Hardware setup and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops and printers.
• Helpdesk ticketing systems and asset inventory management.
• Data backup procedures, antivirus solutions and firewall configuration.
