Junior Marketing Officer

About the role

The Junior Marketing Officer will support the development and execution of local marketing strategies to boost brand visibility and generate business opportunities within the travel and tourism sector in Kampala.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement local marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and business opportunities.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the local market.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with travel agencies, corporate clients, hotels, DMCs, and other relevant partners.
• Conduct regular market visits and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and market trends.
• Support sales activities and generate qualified leads for the business.
• Coordinate local promotions, campaigns, events, and other marketing initiatives.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients and partners.
• Achieve agreed marketing, lead‑generation, and revenue targets.
• Prepare regular market reports, including competitor activities, opportunities, and business development updates.
• Represent the company professionally at relevant industry events, trade shows, and networking activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Tourism, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in marketing, preferably within the travel, tourism, hospitality, or airline industry.
• Strong knowledge of the local travel market and established industry contacts would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, target‑oriented, and capable of working independently.
