About the role
We are seeking a flexible Kitchen Staff Substitute to support our food service operations across multiple Midwest locations. You will step in on an as‑needed basis to ensure smooth kitchen and cafeteria service, maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and restock serving lines daily, ensuring food is held at required temperatures.
- Assist in food preparation according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes, including baking breads, cakes, and cookies.
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other kitchen equipment with proper certification.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow FIFO inventory procedures.
- Monitor and record hot and cold food temperatures, complete HACCP logs, and adhere to HHFKA and CACFP regulations.
- Handle customer monies during service when required.
- Participate in safety programs, meetings, and required training.
Required profile
- Ability to perform essential kitchen functions on an as‑needed basis.
- Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and compliance with Opaa!’s policies.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to varying service demands.
