Lead Engineer - AI Agents

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to head our new AI Agents team. You will design, ship, and scale production‑grade automations and AI agents that improve the daily work of over 2,300 employees across M‑KOPA’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of three AI Ops Engineers, overseeing delivery, development and day‑to‑day work.
• Prioritise competing requests from multiple internal teams using a clear framework.
• Design and ship multi‑agent systems and production‑grade automations that measurably improve internal workflows.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for internal knowledge retrieval.
• Maintain the health of the AI tooling stack as usage scales across 2,500+ employees.
• Stay current on emerging AI tools and differentiate hype from useful technology.
• Assist software engineering teams in integrating AI into customer‑facing products.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in AI or automation projects.
• Strong ability to manage priorities and deliver value in a fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent communication skills to act as an internal consultant for other teams.
