Legal Data Analyst (Remote)

About the role

The Legal Data Analyst will turn complex legal information—such as contracts, case records, and regulatory filings—into actionable insights that support compliance, risk management, and business decision‑making. Working remotely, you will collaborate with legal, compliance, and technology teams to build data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large legal datasets (litigation outcomes, regulatory filings, contract terms) to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Translate analytical findings into insights for legal strategy, compliance and business decisions.
• Create and maintain high‑quality training data, craft prompts for large language models (LLMs) and evaluate model outputs.
• Support regulatory compliance by mapping emerging requirements to internal processes.
• Design interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Lead automation initiatives to improve legal workflow efficiency and reduce operational risk.
• Assist in data‑governance activities, including classification, retention policies and quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in legal analysis, legal operations, compliance analytics or data analysis within a legal environment.
• Advanced SQL skills for querying large datasets.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis.
• Ability to convert complex legal concepts into quantitative data structures.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in at least one area such as litigation analytics, regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, AML/KYC), contract analytics, intellectual property or privacy law.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
