Maintenance Controller – Equipment Availability & VPO

About the role
The Maintenance Controller will coordinate, train, coach and control activities within the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&F) section, covering both production and maintenance environments. The primary goal is to maximise equipment availability by applying VPO principles and providing specialist technical advice.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment and ensure compliance with SOPs, SWIs and safety standards.
- Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation; plan and prepare maintenance jobs.
- Develop, review and implement maintenance programs for new and existing equipment.
- Perform repairs, calibration and routine maintenance on electrical and instrumentation assets.
- Continuously optimise plant processes, equipment and systems.
- Lead and develop the maintenance team through training plans, succession planning and skill matrices.
- Apply VPO pillars and risk assessment tools (HIRA, PHA, JHA) in all activities.
Required profile
- Proven ability to manage a maintenance department or team.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Motivational leadership with a focus on team development.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and adherence to standards.
