About the role
The MEAL Trainee will support the MEAL Officer in implementing monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities at field level, gaining practical experience in data collection, quality assurance and basic analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Support routine field data collection using digital tools such as Kobo Collect.
- Assist in conducting assessments, surveys, post‑distribution monitoring and spot checks.
- Perform data entry, cleaning, compilation and basic analysis using Excel or similar tools.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and activity reports and maintain organized filing systems for MEAL documents.
- Collect and document beneficiary feedback, complaints and success stories through established accountability channels.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Information Management, Data Science, Monitoring & Evaluation or related field.
- At least one year of experience supporting MEAL functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural field environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with mobile data collection tools, preferably Kobo Collect.
- Basic data analysis and reporting skills.
