Monitoring & Reporting Officer – Uganda

About the role

The Monitoring & Reporting Officer will support IDLO’s Uganda Country Office in delivering high‑quality monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting (MEL) across its Access to Justice for Sustainable Development (AJSD) and Community Justice Programme (CJP II). Working under the MEL Coordinator, the officer ensures that programme data are accurate, timely and used to inform decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of MEL systems for assigned programmes and projects.
• Provide technical guidance on MEL methodologies, tools and data collection processes.
• Ensure quality, consistency and effective use of programme data and evidence.
• Prepare regular progress reports, assessments and contribute to institutional reporting (e.g., SRRF).
• Support mid‑term and final evaluations by supplying evidence of results.
• Collaborate with programme teams, regional management and HQ MEL functions.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., law, development studies, social sciences, statistics).
• Experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting within development or justice programmes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent written communication in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with international and national staff.
