Permanent Early Childhood Educator – Split Shift

About the role

This permanent position is for a Registered Early Childhood Educator (DECE) who will deliver a before‑and‑after‑school program on a split‑shift schedule. The role supports children aged 3.8 to 12 years, providing play‑based learning that aligns with Ontario’s early‑years pedagogy and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, play‑based programming for children 3.8‑12 years during morning (6:45 am‑9:45 am) and afternoon (2:30 pm‑6:00 pm) shifts.
• Develop and implement curriculum based on the Ministry of Education’s “How Does Learning Happen?” framework.
• Document children’s learning outcomes and maintain pedagogical records.
• Set up, maintain, and store equipment and learning materials across multiple school sites.
• Prepare, serve, and clean up meals and snacks for children.
• Ensure health, safety, and regulatory compliance at all times.
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and community partners.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• Member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Willingness to be relocated daily to different school sites as needed.
• Flexibility to work early mornings and late afternoons.

Required skills

• Current Standard First Aid and Infant/Child CPR‑C & AED certification (Level C).
